In a lot of the
stories in Part B of the reading are like old ghost stories I used to
hear as a child. The one that is most fitting to the ones I heard growing up
would be the story of the headless princess. In the story a young boy
spies a princess washing and dressing herself. While doing so she
takes off her head and washes that. This is quite similar to a ghost
story I heard growing up in Malaysia. The story in Malaysia ends
there but this one continues on to have the princess die and try to
kill the boy for seeing her secret head.
